Discussion Discussion of the Results Our positive findings regarding the client version of the IMR scale, an overall measure of illness self-management and our primary outcome measure, confirms the effectiveness of IMR as compared with CAU. Additionally, our findings in the sensitivity analysis for IMR completers regarding the effects on both the client and clinician versions of the IMR scale support this positive finding. Although our results with respect to these IMR scales indicate an overall improvement in illness management, the questionnaire scores on specific components of illness management revealed no statistically significant effects.
