Selected markers with AUC values ≥ 0.80 originated from six studies (13, 16, 25, 27-29), of which three (16, 24, 28) provided a 95% CI of the reported AUC values. Sensitivity and specificity values of individual markers were reported in only three (16, 24, 26) out of nine included studies. A total of four studies (13, 24, 26, 30) investigated the performance of DNA methylation marker panels, comprising up to three genes.
