Curriculum Vitae Loek Tonnaer was born on the 20th of April 1989 in Oirschot, but mostly grew up in Brachterbeek, the Netherlands. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Industrial and Applied Mathematics in 2014, and his Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2017, both at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). During his studies, he also served as a board member for the international student association AEGEE. In 2017, Loek started his PhD project in the Data Mining group at TU/e under the supervision of dr. Vlado Menkovski, dr. Mike Holenderski, and prof.dr. Mykola Pechenizkiy; the results of which are presented in this thesis. During his PhD he published 4 conference papers, of which 3 as a first author, in conferences such as ICML, IJCNN, and IDA. Additionally, he co-authored a NeurIPS workshop paper and a journal contribution. Next to his professional activities, Loek enjoys playing various musical instruments, including guitar, trumpet, and singing. He regularly performs on stage with several music groups.
