73 Content analysis | 3 observations, interviews - to attain further understanding of portfolio use for the support of SRL via triangulation. Thereby, clarifying to what extent and how portfolio use can support SRL. Conclusion This study adds insights into the intricate relationship between portfolio use and SRL. Content analysis of portfolios used by GP trainees showed limited documentation of the SRL processes that are, according to health professions education literature, influenced by portfolio use: self-assessment, via reflection and feedback, goal-setting and planning, and monitoring. As the documentation of SRL in a portfolio asks for high level of introspection and writing skills, and requires time that is not always available within the clinical setting, one cannot expect documentation of SRL processes to appear in portfolio content without efforts.
