Introduction (5 min) • Who are we. • Why are we here: Research project into the use of portfolios for learning at the workplace. The focus groups focus on experiences, ideas, opinions and feelings of those involved with the portfolio of the GP specialty training. • What is going to happen: Open assignments and questions. Room for discussion. No wrong or right answers. Maximum duration of 90 minutes. The conversation is audio recorded, the recording will be transcribed, during transcription personal details will be left out. • Questions before we start? Introductory round (5 min) • Who are you? • Do you have any experiences with (e-)portfolios other than those of the GP specialty training? Pros and cons (25 min) • Explanation of the assignments: We have two flip-overs: one for positive remarks on the portfolio, one for negative remarks. We would like everyone to note at least one thing on each flip-over. • Questions to gain insight into the different contributions on the flip-overs, like: Who noted ‘…’, could you explain why you wrote this down? Do others recognise this? Questions (35 min) • How do you use the portfolio in daily practice? • What do you consider to be the goal of the portfolio? • What is the job of the trainee/supervisor/teacher during the use of the portfolio? Additions (10 min) • Which points are left undiscussed, while they are important to mention regarding the use of the portfolio?
