42 Chapter 2 each of the biomarkers as a continuous variable, especially since recent data show that there may be information in subthreshold amyloid deposition (50). In conclusion, we found that SCD participants in A+ profiles show an increased risk of clinical progression to dementia and steeper decline in the cognitive domains of memory, attention, language, and executive functions compared to participants with normal biomarkers. These findings implicate that within SCD, the ATN classification helps to identify individuals at risk of dementia, and – maybe even more importantly – which individuals are highly unlikely to show progression over time.
