CHAPTER 10 250 Chapter 7 studied the potential of the PRPP-Assessment based on parent-provided videos of children with mitochondrial disorders, using the method optimized in chapter 6. In this study, 13 children participated with a total of 65 videotaped activities which were scored by 11 different occupational therapists. The study showed sufficient to good internal consistency, intra- and inter-rater reliability, and construct validity. In Chapter 8, we studied whether the PRPP-Assessment could measure change. Despite the relatively small group (nine activities distributed among three children), the PRPP-Assessment demonstrated sound responsiveness. Conclusion Our study shows that children with a mitochondrial disorder are able to communicate their perspective as long as the interviewer is able to uncover it. In addition, the PRPP-Assessment showed to be a child-centred, flexible yet standardized and rigorous measurement tool for this group of children with different levels of functioning.
